Ft Greene Rat

Sophie's find for the day.

Addendum: OK, I've gotten some grief for this, so in explanation: I had to take this photo because it looked like a stereotypical cartoon dead rat – he just needs X's over his eyes. These poisoned rats are a major discussion topic among Ft Greene dog owners; I've heard quite a few stories about dogs finding the poisons or licking the wrappers or rolling in Eau de Rat Mort.

Mourning Dove in Mor

It's 3 hours after Jackson started plucking her and she's still hanging on.

Addendum, 9:28am: Ooops, I hit Send before accepting my phone's suggested word ending. That headline is supposed to say "Mourning Dove in Morning" but I can't seem to edit the phone's text msg subjectline.

I'm hoping Jackson didn't get any of his toxic cat saliva in her wounds, or that she doesn't die of shock. We'll see...

Bastard cat doesn't even have front claws. I'll see if I can find an elastic cat collar today, and attach a bell, or better yet a siren. I'm really getting tired of waking up to the sound of chaos in the livingroom.

UPDATE, 6:50am: She died during the night :(
